Bernardino Toppi（1936–）出生於羅馬，後長期活躍於法國藝壇。其創作深受古羅馬藝術、地中海文化與史前洞窟壁畫啟發，騎士、人物、動物與古代文明等意象反覆出現在作品之中，並逐漸發展出帶有壁畫質感、介於現實與夢境之間的獨特視覺語言。1961 年他參與巴黎青年畫家沙龍，之後陸續於巴黎、紐約、東京等地展出，作品進入歐洲多所藝術機構收藏，在二級市場也陸續拍賣出好成績。

Born in Rome, Bernardino Toppi later became active for many years in the French art scene. His work draws on ancient Roman art, Mediterranean culture, and prehistoric cave painting. Riders, human figures, animals, and images of ancient civilization recur throughout his practice, gradually developing into a distinctive visual language with a fresco-like surface and a dreamlike atmosphere suspended between reality and imagination.
In 1961 he participated in the Salon de la Jeune Peinture in Paris, followed by exhibitions in Paris, New York, Tokyo, and elsewhere. His works later entered several European institutional collections and achieved recurring results in the secondary market.
For collectors, the work combines some advantages: a representative rider motif, and a compact, easy-to-display scale. It is also a relatively accessible entry point into Toppi’s practice
