Eight-Faced Dragon – Riding the Six Qi
Calligrapher’s note:
In ancient times, people delighted in beholding stones,
in playing with them, in painting them—
but where lies the reason?
Some say: a stone’s silence is its greatest charm.
Among all the marvels beneath heaven and earth,
none surpass the wondrous book,
the wondrous stone,
and the wondrous script.
To possess these three together
is like a dark-blue dragon riding the six breaths of nature,
wandering free in boundless ease.
