The Fragrance of Flowers, Intoxicating
Calligrapher’s note:
After writing the main text ("The Fragrance of Flowers Intoxicating"), I still felt the urge to write further, so I added some vigorous cursive calligraphy to the background. Seeing a collection of flower paintings by Shi Tao on my desk, I also sketched a water lily in an abstract style. Finally, I inscribed a seven-character couplet in small calligraphy: "The fragrance of flowers intoxicates one for three lifetimes; the aroma of ink and paper perfumes the heavens.
